When installing sound switch 1, order no. 2382.S or multi-light module order no. 2381, use remote control MC 19, MC 22 or MC 24 with the Nautic expert module order no.4108. The original The Littorina is a German research cutter.
The ship is operated by the Leibniz Institute for Marine Science (IFM-GEOMAR) at the University of Kiel.
The cutter was built in 1974/75 at the Julius Dietrich shipyard in Oldersum.
Today the cutter, which has a operating radius of approximately 2,000 nautical miles, is used for marine research and for taking samples in shallow water regions down to a depth of 500 meters.
In addition to the five-person crew, it offers room for six scientists for multi-day trips.
The Littorina is equipped with a diving room with compressor and a complete range of diving equipment for 12 persons.
The cutter is named for the beach snail, whose scientific name is littorina.
The model was revised based on new drawings and very many photos.
Renovations of the ship have been incorporated into the model.
All parts of the superstructure are laser-cut.
The model can be equipped with many special functions.
