This safety function also provides a means of rapidly, deliberately and fully automatically bringing the model back to a level flight attitude from manoeuvres such as the tik-tok or piro-flip.
This makes it possible to learn the skills of 3D aerobatics, and to return to level flight quickly, safely and automatically if a critical situation should develop. Virtually a "real flying simulator", combined with a huge fun factor. It is possible to set the degree of stabilisation, and switch horizontal mode on and off, directly from the transmitter using an auxiliary channel.
This functionality is made possible by the latest generation of high-quality silicon MEMS gyro sensors. This provides the HC3-SX with full 3D capability. It also incorporates a very high-quality ultra-fast tail rotor gyro. No external gyro is required!
The system also includes symmetrical torque control. The further improvement in tail holding power is achieved by coupling the tail rotor gyro internally with the collective pitch data from the rotor head control system.
This system is naturally suited to scale flybarless helicopters (two-blade or multi-blade) or other flybarless helicopters such as trainers etc. The horizontal mode, which can be switched on at any time, makes the system an excellent choice for beginners.
The HC3-SX can be used in helicopters with electric and glow power as well as turbine-powered models (please observe the safety note in the instructions relating to turbines installed in scale fuselages.) The system supports all current analogue, digital and brushless servos, including narrow-pulse types (760 µs) for the tail rotor (e.g. robbe-Futaba S 9251 or BLS 251). The system supports all commonly used swashplate types, including four swashplate servos (H1, H3-90°, H3-120°, H3-140°, H4-90°, H4-90°+45°), as well as virtual swashplate rotation.
The system can operate as a pure tail rotor gyro without further accessories, e.g. if you wish to test-fly a new model with a flybar head, then plan to convert it to a rigid system subsequently. In this case you do not need to purchase a separate tail gyro; all you have to do is switch off the Rigid function. The swashplate mixing is carried out by the HC3-SX, i.e. only a simple transmitter is required.
With its CNC-machined aluminium case and elegant design the unit easily matches the current high standards of quality of the major helicopter manufacturers. The ultra-compact design and flexible installation provisions make the unit suitable for use in virtually any helicopter, from micro-helis up to 3.5 m scale machines.
  • Set-up work is reduced to a minimum, not least due to the clear separation between the gain settings for the rotor head gyros and the tail gyro, using independent auxiliary channels.
  • Can also be used as a pure tail rotor gyro without further accessories.
  • Direct USB connection for fast programming; the convenient set-up software is included in the set.
  • The leads between receiver and HC3-SX feature plug-in connectors at both ends.
  • The system features a gold-plated circuit board and the latest generation of MEMS sensors acting on all three axes.
  • Direct connection to the new SP and S-BUS receivers with serial sockets, such as the R6007SP, R6108SB. Direct connection to 2.4 GHz Spektrum and JR satellites (in which case the primary receiver is omitted).
  • In this case the throttle output and a second output (e.g. governor, retractable undercarriage, lighting system, etc.) are available directly at the HC3-SX.
  • Flexible installation provisions: horizontal or vertical
  • The HC3-SX features Flash memory, which means that it can be updated to the latest software state at our Service Centre.
  • Existing HC3-Xtreme gyros can also be upgraded at any time to include the horizontal stabilisation (self-levelling) function. This requires the unit to be sent to the robbe Service centre.
