Because of the ball-bearing support clutch it is necessay to use engines having a longitudinally-ground crankshaft (8mm Ø) only, otherwise the clutch No 4618.24 is needed. Cooling of the engine is provided by a powerful radial fan. With ist numerous attach points and installation options, the sub-structure forms a link which permits arranging all components in a clear and compact manner. The mechanics feature an enclosed RC box which is lined with foam padding, and accepts and protects both receiver, gyro electronics, and speed controller. This box is normally installed above the fuel tank, but can also be fitted below, in the existing fuel tank support. Glasfibre-reinforced nylon consoles for receiver battery, receiver switch, fuel tank, and glowplug connections provide an efficient means of arranging these components both in open trainer- style helicopters and in enclosed fuselages. The cooling air duct is injection-moulded in glassfibre-reinforced nylon and helps to stiffen the sub-structure by forming a bulkhead above the front skid attachment. The tail rotor features a swinging hub with angled shaft, which produces a pronounced Delta effect to provide accurate positional control of the tail rotor. Two O-rings inside the hub provide effective damping. The starter adaptor required to start the motor is included in the set. With freewheel means provided in the first gearbox stage, the tail rotor continues to rotate in the autorotative mode. The excellent flight characteristics, especially in aerobatics, are world-known. The swashplate is operated via three links arranged at 120° positions.
