WP MINI SHARK, MiniU-Boot Graupner 2019 In design and layout the MINI SHARK is based on a typical modern atomic submarine, and is intended to look as realistic as possible. The hull length is proportionately shorter to ensure that the boat is highly manoeuvrable. The sub exploits the static diving principle, i.e. the submerge motor pushes the model under water, where it maintains its position. The boat has slight residual buoyancy as a safety feature, so that it will always rise to the surface in an emergency, e.g. if the batteries are flat. The submarine is also turned by controlling the motors. For example, if the right-hand motor runs and the left-hand motor is stopped, the boat turns to the left. The drive battery can be recharged quickly and easily using the charge station supplied; charge time is 10 minutes. The two red searchlights (or "eyes") light up when the sub is moving, making the model look almost "alive". Due to its small size, the model can easily be operated in the bath or any fairly large aquarium. Running time is up to 15 minutes.
