WP MEGA STAR 2000, Zelle Graupner 4455.N MEGA STAR 2000 is a freelance (non-scale) high-
performance competition helicopter with an extremely slim, low-drag fuselage shape. To fulfil the ever-increasing demands for high-performance tail rotor drive systems the tail end of the fuselage has been modified to accept the complete tail boom and rigid tail rotor drive system as used in the ULTRA STAR 2000. This system is available as a tunning accessory underNo. 4451.100. The CFRP tail rotor control linkage, No. 4448.105, can also be fitted.
A conventional tail rotor drive system is supplied as standard, based on a 2 mm Ø spring steel shaft running in a bush mounted in a channeled balsa rail. The control system is based on a steel bowden cable. The GRP front and rear fuselage sec-tions are supplied with most of the window and vent openings factory-cut; the air inlet duct running to the cooling fan is moulded into the front fuselage section. The windows are vaccum-moulded in clear smoked-tint plastic material, and are supplied pre-cut in the kit. The model features no internal bulkheads and is therefore very quick to complete; this feature also ensures that hot air generated inside the fuselage can be sucked out through slots in the vertical stabiliser. The narrow fuselage is designed with rear exhaust motors in mind, such as the OS MAX 61 RX-HGL C, No. 1892. However, side-exhaustmotors can also be fitted; details of the installation are left to the builders discretion. Building instructions in German, English and French. Lightweight two-part fuselage moulded in epoxy-fibreglass with high-gloss pre-coloured surface, most opennings pre-cut, small number of wooden parts, pre-cut clear smoked tint windows, tail rotor shaft with bush, tail rotor control linkage, balsa horizontal stabilisers, skid landing gear, small parts.
