A pleasant surprise awaits though: the CNC machining work done prior to delivery and the many laser-cut parts significantly reduce the time it takes to build those parts that are tedious and difficult to complete.
  • Realistic replica of the 23 m cruiser based on original documents from the Deutsche Gesellschaft zur Rettung Schiffbrüchiger (DGzRS) [German Maritime Search and Rescue Service].
  • The sea rescue cruiser was christened Bernhard Gruben on 16 October 1997, named after the captain of the Alfred Krupp who lost his life at sea in 1995.
  • The auxiliary boat Johann Fidi (II) was christened in memory of the Raß family of Norderney, who counted lifeboat crew in several generations.
  • The auxiliary boat can be operated as a standalone model.
  • Since 05/1997, the Bernhard Gruben has been in use 08. at the lifeboat station in Norderney.
